Koloa maoli – endangered native Hawaiian duck

The Koloa maoli is an endangered Hawaiian duck that is down to less than 2000 individuals. It is facing habitat loss and threats from introduced species. A secretive bird, it is not well understood. Scientists from UC Davis are studying it to help save it from extinction. Video made by Outside Hawaii for Malama Hawaii and HISC.
