The Cape Parrot (Poicephalus robustus) is the most endangered bird in South Africa, and the most endangered parrot in Africa. There are less than 1000 remaining in the wild, restricted to small Afromontane forest patches along the south coast of Souh Africa. We are working everyday to save this iconic parrot species from extinction. We are currently battling an outbreak of Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease that is moving through the wild population. Please join us in the Cape Parrot Project group on Facebook and help save this African parrot in peril… Dr. Steve Boyes Wild Bird Trust Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African Ornithology
