ANCHOR: All kinds of surprises have been known to come from Japan, but would you believe that a parrot could beat humans at one of their own games? Let’s get the details. STORY: A six-year-old parrot name “Ten” uses her beak and foot to free two entangled chains in less than 30 seconds. She has a better track record than humans, who take an hour on average to solve the puzzle. [Yuto Uotani, Puzzle Solving Contestant]: “I can’t do it! It’s impossible!” It is indeed amazing that this female macaw remains undefeated, solving the puzzle in a matter of seconds. Five seconds is her best record to date. [Yuka Ishida, Puzzle Solving Contestant]: “I can’t believe I lost! This is frustrating!” Other parrots have so far failed to beat Ten’s record. Most of them showed no interest in the chain puzzle. [Daichi Yamanaka, Parrot Keeper]: “Ten is having fun while solving, whereas other parrots must learn first to disentangle. That’s the difference right there.” It all started few months ago when a parrot keeper handed a chain puzzle to the parrot. After fiddling around with it on a passing whim, Ten managed to solve the puzzle within a matter of a few days.
